I run a variety of ceramic workshops, from brooches to cake stands. Where I demonstrate how to work with porcelain, surface treatments and the application of under glaze colours. I run half-day workshops, or a combination to make a full day, and I'm happy to travel to your venue. Please drop me an e-mail to discuss your requirements.
1. Porcelain surface decoration techniques, Katherine Staples gallery and studio, Wymondham, Leicestershire, 20th September.
I'm excited to say I'll be returning to Katherine's studio and gallery this Autumn. In this workshop we will cover lot's of decorative techniques from Sgraffito , textures and stamps, mono printing, resist, underglaze painting to working with oxides and slip. We will discuss glazing so you will have all the skills and knowledge to apply to your clay projects. You will finish the day with a beautiful set of samples or guidance can be given to turn them into a hand-built form of your choice.
All materials provided but you may wish to bring a notebook to jot down techniques and ideas as this will be a very informative workshop.

2. Porcelain Tiles or Wall Hanging, Sunday 19th October 2025 (1pm -4pm) £60 at Kelly Moore ceramic studio, Spalding, Lincolnshire.

"Join us for a hands-on pottery workshop led by guest artist Katie Almond. Inspired by Katie’s design boards you will learn how to impress textures and add colour to clay to create your own personalised tile to hang up at home. They could be hand-painted with a design or textured using a variety of Katie’s stamps and rollers. They will be high fired and suitable for hanging up, coasters or used to create a small tile splash back. This creative session is ideal for all skill levels.
Workshop Details: What You’ll Make: A wall hanging, tile or set of small tiles using porcelain clay and underglazes to add colour.
Techniques Covered: Slab work, impressing textures, hand modelling and colouring clay with underglaze."

3. Festive Porcelain decoration and tea light workshop, 8th November,
10-4pm £85, Unit 12 gallery, Stafford.
"Participants will learn how to work with porcelain, impress textures, and cut out decorative hangings in a festive theme. Various shapes will be available, such as stockings, baubles and Christmas trees. In the afternoon, building upon the skills acquired earlier, participants will learn basic hand-building techniques to construct their own porcelain tea light holder. By exploring textures, mark making, and surface decoration, they will create a unique, fully functional tea light holder with cut-out shapes for a tea light candle to shine through."
