Handmade ceramic collections inspired by Spring

Handmade ceramic collections inspired by Spring

I'm pleased to say my latest handmade collection of jugs, mugs and matchboxes are well underway. Plus some other pieces (but more on that in another post as lot's to reveal about them) and I'm praying to the Kiln Gods for them as we speak..eek!

In the last month, I've really enjoyed tucking myself away, hiding from the weather, with endless cups of tea dreaming up all my Spring pieces. I'm so excited to share them all with you! Just the small task of getting them photographed once fired so wish me luck. I'm hoping to update my ceramic shop page in March so do make sure you are signed up to my mailing list to be first in the know.

I do feel we all need a pat on the back for getting through January. I'm not going to lie I find it tough especially those long dark days. BUT it helps enormously to surround myself with my sketchbook, the thought of warmer Spring days, and immerse myself in making. Imagine my delight when a few weeks ago my favourite flowers popped up in the garden. Even more special that these bulbs were given to us from Great Grandma's garden and they seem to like where they are and pop up every year.

I've read that the snowdrop flower symbolises hope, rebirth and new beginnings, which I think is a perfect starting point for my new Spring collection. I feel I am often inspired by the garden and my new found love of bulbs. Maybe I am a bit like my Nan and Great Grandma after all!

The hand-painted snowdrop mug has joined more of my favourite designs. Now all that is left to do is to pop a transparent glaze on and put them back into the kiln for a high fire to Porcelain temperature.

I hope to share more with you very soon and hopefully the light improves and I can get some nice photos of them all. Hope you have a good few weeks and find a way through these long Winter days.
