About my work and inspirations

I am a designer/maker specialising in Ceramics. I graduated from De Montfort University in July 2009 with a first class honours in Design Crafts. Since graduating I have set up my own workshop and supply to galleries and shops across the UK. I regularly attend craft fairs and for more information visit my news/exhibition and stockists pages.

I produce decorative hand-painted porcelain jugs, cups, cake stands and brooches made using a variety of slip casting and hand-building techniques. Each piece is essentially a canvas for decoration and collage as I combine drawings with found ephemera. I am inspired by nostalgia, old paper ephemera, vintage textiles and a love of drawing.

My collection uses elements from a different era alongside my own drawings, text and collage. I focus on pattern and detail using mixed media to collage and juxtapose the found and made. The pieces I create are unique, one-offs that explore a variety of nostalgic themes that I am always adding to. Currently my themes are; the notions of afternoon tea, ‘Oh I do like to be beside the seaside’, gardening and flowers, and traditional blue and white pottery.

Commissions welcome.
